Where Are the Best Virginia Softball Camps in 2024?
If you’re a softball player who lives in the mid-Atlantic area of the United States, you might be wondering where the best Virginia Softball Camps are for the summer of 2024.
We’re proud to bring our Revolution Softball Camp back to Virginia this year. The only location will be in Ashland at Randolph Macon College. You can see some of the basic details below:
Camp Name: Softball Summer Camp Hosted by Randolph Macon College
Location: Ashland, Virginia
Camp Type: Day
Dates Available: July 22nd – July 25th, 2024
We’re excited to have Randolph Macon head coach Kevin Proffitt join us for this year’s camp. He actually graduated from Randolph Macon in 1986 and has been in charge of the school’s Division III softball program for nearly 20 years. He’s helped steer the program to a lot of success over the years, and Proffitt has racked up more than 400 wins as a head coach during that time.
What will you learn if you decide to attend one of our Revolution Softball Camps? A little bit of everything, and then some. Here are the skill areas we’ll cover during our time together:
- Batting: stance improvement, hit and runs, pull hitting, bunting, and hitting for power
- Pitching: release points, communication between the pitcher and catcher, and pitching motions
- Fielding: catching pop-flies and ground balls, relay throws, and turning double plays
- Baserunning: stealing, pickles, and tagging up
- Nutrition and condition
This is all done in a fun and positive environment. Our softball camps aren’t just for elite athletes – they’re available for everyone. Revolution camps have been designed for athletes of all abilities to improve their skills in every area of the game.
Our camp curriculum is similar across all camp locations each year. However, we leave some creativity to the camp directors so they can provide a unique experience for everyone who joins us in the summer. So, you don’t have to worry about dealing with the same old drills over and over again. We do our best to mix things up and keep them fresh, allowing you to look forward to joining us on the field every day.
Four days may not seem like a lot of time to make significant improvements on the field, but it is. We’ve been doing this a long time and know exactly how to maximize our time together so you not only see a difference at the end of camp, but you can also build on that progress heading into your next softball season.
