You’ve decided that heading to a Revolution Softball Camp this summer is something you’d like to put on your to-do list, and we’re excited for you to join us! Before you go ahead and make it official by registering, it’s always good to have as much information as possible in order to make an informed decision on what the best fit is.

While no two camps are the same, the one thing we guarantee is top-notch coaching from some of the best in the game and an unforgettable experience no matter which one you choose! What it really comes down to is choosing between one of our day, extended day, or overnight softball camps.

Depending on what exactly you’re looking for, we offer these different camp formats to work best given your particular situation. Here are the key differences you should consider.

Time Commitment & Schedule

Day Softball Camps: If you’d rather sleep in your own bed each night while you’re participating in a Revolution Softball Camp, we don’t blame you one bit! This format typically runs from 9 am to 4 or 5 pm and doesn’t include any of the “extra” things like evening activities. Day campers arrive at about 9 am to stretch and warm up and spend the day with us until 4 pm. This is perfect for players who have packed schedules or prefer the comforts of home.

Extended Day Softball Camps: Extended day softball camps are kind of like the best of both worlds – you get to stick around for a majority of the day, but still have the flexibility to go home and sleep in your own bed after a long, hard day on the field. Schedules can vary from year to year and location to location, but typically, an extended day camper can expect to be doing something from about 9 am (when you arrive) to about 9 pm (when it’s time to head home). The schedule between 9 am and 4 pm is exactly the same for day and extended day campers, but the difference is that when day campers head home, the extended day campers have the option to get extra help and play in some scrimmages before the day is over. Lunch and dinner are included in extended day packages, along with some evening activities. It’s a long day, but it’s the best option if you want everything that an overnight camp has, but without actually sleeping in the dorms.

Overnight Softball Camps: If you’re looking for the “full experience” and don’t have any issues with staying away from home for a few days, this is the perfect option. Of all the softball camps we offer each summer, overnight softball camps have the biggest time commitment. These types of camps typically take place on college campuses because that allows you to take advantage of the dorm options available. This is the full camp experience, which includes room and board, meals, and a full week of softball and evening activities. You’d be checking in between 12-1 pm on the first day and checking out at 12 pm on the final day, and a typical day can run from about 9 am to 10 pm. Overnight camps include a very full day, but we don’t just focus on improving your softball skills. We have fun evening activities that allow you to meet everyone else at camp and possibly make lifelong friends along the way!

What to Pack

In order to get the most out of summer softball camp, you must make sure everything you need is packed! If you’re participating in a day camp, you’ll just have to bring the minimum, like your on-field gear, sunscreen, a water bottle, and your health form.

If you’re joining us for an extended day camp, you may just need to bring an extra snack or bottle of water since you’ll be with us a few hours longer than the day camps.

If you’re staying with us for a few days at one of our overnight camps, you’ll obviously need to bring bedding and toiletries, while those things won’t be needed if you’re coming to a day camp. Bring pajamas, bedding or a sleeping bag, a pillow, and any toiletries you’ll want. You may also want to bring along a little spending money!

Price

The amount of money that would be due for any Revolution Softball Camp varies on the type of camp you’re interested in. Since overnight camps have the largest time commitment for players and they’ll need to be using camp facilities on a 24-hour basis, the price is typically the most expensive of all the offerings we have available. Based on the time commitment, extended day camps are typically the second-most expensive camp we offer each summer.

The actual price does vary by location, so it’s important to look through all the details for the specific camp that interests you most. A good example is the Cate Sports Academy in Carpinteria, California. The overnight camp costs $695, while extended day camps are $450 and day camps are $295.

Camp Availability

We’re offering Revolution Softball Camps in multiple states this summer, so it’s important to know what different types of camps are offered in each area, along with when they’re offered. Select locations may only have overnight and extended day options available, while other locations are a little more flexible with day and half-day options. Extended day softball camps are offered at any location that has an overnight camp available.

Knowing your schedule and keeping a close eye on these details will help make the registration process go by much quicker (and less stressful) than you may anticipate!
